Our Winnipeg office had the pleasure of having Anaka join our team as a participant in the Youth CEO (Creative Employment Opportunities) program that helps connect recent high school grads from our community to some of Manitoba’s leading businesses.
Anaka joined the Richardson team from July 24-28.
Throughout the week, Anaka spent time working alongside employees in Human Resources, Oilseed Products, Quality Assurance, Communications, Transportation, Management Information Systems, and was also able to attend Richardson’s annual Lunch and Learn event held at Kelburn Farm.
“Working at Richardson has provided me with an authentic understanding and perspective of the business world as well as Canadian agriculture. I’ve gained experience ranging from how to grade grains, to ensuring customers feel valued and appreciated,” said Anaka.
Having recently launched on July 11, Youth CEO is a pilot program created by the Business Council of Manitoba, in partnership with the Winnipeg Aboriginal Sport Achievement Centre (WASAC) and the Centre for Aboriginal Human Resource Development. Eighteen high school graduates, who have been youth leaders with WASAC, were selected and assigned to work for one of the 13 participating Manitoba companies, like Richardson International.
